ADNews-Casablanca: Morocco’s Flag Carrier, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), announced, on Thursday, that a new direct flight route between Casablanca and Los Angeles will be launched starting June 7, 2026.
This new air route, the first-ever direct connection (12 hours) between Africa and the U.S. Pacific Coast, marks a major milestone in the expansion of the national carrier’s long-haul network, RAM said in a press release.
Operated three times per week, the new service meets a growing demand for intercontinental travel on the eve of the FIFA World Cup 2026, the same source noted.
It targets the Moroccan and African diasporas, American tourists, business travelers, and Moroccan, African, and European supporters wishing to travel to the United States for this global event.
“This direct route to Los Angeles is much more than a new destination. It is a historic milestone for the airline and for Africa’s air connectivity. It reflects our ambition to bring Morocco closer to major global economic, tourism, and cultural hubs, while supporting the Kingdom’s international openness,” said RAM Chairman and CEO, Hamid Addou, as quoted in the press release.
“As a key player in national tourism, Royal Air Maroc is thus helping boost Morocco’s visibility in the American market, one of the most important sources of outbound travelers,” he added.
With this new connection, Casablanca strengthens its role as a major air hub, efficiently linking Africa, Europe, and the Americas. This launch is part of RAM’s strategic development plan, focused on fleet expansion, the opening of new routes, and the increase of both international and domestic services.
Flights will be operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliners, modern aircraft known for their comfort, performance, and cutting-edge technology. Passengers will enjoy high-quality onboard service, a wide range of individual entertainment options, and an excellent level of comfort suitable for long-haul travel.
With this opening, the airline reinforces its presence in North America, where it already serves New York, Washington, Miami, Montréal, and Toronto. The new route also comes with increased frequencies on other strategic long-haul destinations, including São Paulo, Miami, Washington, and Dubai.
Through this expansion, Royal Air Maroc reaffirms its role as a leading African carrier and further strengthens Morocco’s position as a global aviation crossroads, especially in the run-up to the 2030 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal.
The flight schedule provides for departures from Casablanca on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with takeoff at 04:00 and arrival in Los Angeles at 08:20.
From Los Angeles, flights depart at 10:20, arriving in Casablanca at 05:25 the following day.
