Samukai Dunnah, conducted a high-level inspection of newly arrived earth-moving equipment at the Freeport of Monrovia.
The delegation was formally received by the Acting Managing Director of the National Port Authority, James R. Bernard, who led a secured operational tour of the first consignment of heavy-duty machinery procured by the Government of Liberia.
Addressing reporters following the inspection, Minister Taplah disclosed that in coordination with the Special Presidential Committee on the Yellow Machines, the Ministry will commence the relocation of approximately 137 pieces of equipment on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from the Freeport to Camp Ware in Careysburg, Margibi County.
She lauded His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. for fulfilling a central pillar of the Government’s ARREST Agenda expanding road connectivity as a catalyst for national development and inclusive economic growth.
For his part, Deputy Minister for Technical Services Prince Tambah described the acquisition as a transformative milestone for Liberia’s infrastructure sector.
He revealed that the country has been strategically divided into nineteen operational hubs to ensure equitable deployment and efficiency, with Lofa, Bong, Nimba, and Grand Bassa Counties each hosting two hubs, while the remaining counties will operate one hub apiece.
Minister Tambah emphasized that the deployment of the machinery will significantly enhance road accessibility, stimulate commerce, and generate employment opportunities for hundreds of Liberians, particularly during the challenging rainy season when mobility is severely constrained.
He characterized President Boakai as a “talk and do” leader whose administration is translating policy commitments into tangible national assets and further announced that a second batch of equipment is scheduled to arrive in March 2026, reinforcing the Government’s sustained commitment to infrastructure modernization and economic liberation.
