ADNews-Monrovia, Liberia: The Global Logistics Services (GLS) Group has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, integrity, and cooperation with state authorities amid public discussions linking the company and its leadership to an ongoing investigation involving activities at the Roberts International Airport (RIA).
In an official statement released over the weekend, the company disclosed that it is fully cooperating with investigators and remains committed to supporting the process while respecting the integrity of the ongoing probe.
The logistics and infrastructure firm said it would refrain from commenting on the specifics of the investigation, citing the need to protect due process and allow authorities to complete their work without undue interference.
“Out of respect for the integrity of the investigation and due process, the Company will not comment on the subject of an ongoing investigation or on the specifics of the matter while it remains under review,” the statement noted.
GLS Group also urged the public and media institutions to avoid speculation and rely on verified information from official investigative bodies.
At the same time, the company strongly rejected what it described as “false and defamatory” allegations circulating in public discussions, claiming that such assertions are aimed at damaging its corporate image and the reputation of its Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
The company warned that it reserves the right to pursue legal action against individuals or entities found to be spreading false information intended to undermine its credibility.
For more than 14 years, GLS Group has been a major player in Liberia’s logistics and infrastructure sector. The company highlighted several flagship projects, including the GLS Menzies Aviation Cargo Center at Roberts International Airport, Liberia’s first modern air cargo handling facility, and the Liberia Bonded Warehouse Complex, described as the country’s largest commercial bonded warehouse serving importers and exporters.
According to the statement, these investments have contributed significantly to strengthening Liberia’s trade and logistics capacity while supporting broader economic development goals.
The company further emphasized its zero-tolerance policy toward unlawful activities, stressing that it operates under strict compliance and operational standards across all its business divisions.
“GLS Group maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward unlawful activity of any kind. We hold ourselves to rigorous compliance and operational standards across all of our operations,” the statement said.
The firm added that it remains committed to reviewing and strengthening its internal procedures in collaboration with relevant authorities as part of efforts to reinforce accountability and corporate governance.
Despite the ongoing investigation, GLS Group said it remains focused on its mission of supporting Liberia’s economic growth and infrastructure development while upholding the principles of transparency, excellence, and integrity that have guided the company for more than a decade.
