Hunan Daily Contemplates Visiting Liberia

ADNews- Changsha, China: The official newspaper of Hunan Province in China, Hunan Daily is contemplating  visiting  Liberia as part of their international communication exploration to enhance China’s- win-win policy.

Speaking at the third day of the two-week Liberia Journalists’ media seminar in Changsha, China, Sunday, August 3, 2025, on the path to Branding Local Media’s International Communication, Ms. Qin Huiying, Director of the International Communication Center at Hunan Daily stated that every breakthrough in the micro-narrative defines a new paradigm of communication.

Qin disclosed that Liberia has two prominent features in the field of social media including a large population of youths in the digital space and the rise of localizing social platforms.

” Hunan has established a media partnership with Liberia, for example, Changsha University of Science and Technology has opened a Confucius Institute in Liberia and launched a radio program called “Chinese in the Air”
“China has helped Liberia upgrade its broadcasting and Television facilities Hunan Shanzhenda Company advances agricultural industry Chain Project Liberia,” Ms. Qin Huiying emphasized.

In the past few years according to her, representatives from Hunan Daily visited many African countries including Benin, Kenya South Africa, and Ethiopia among others while they remain hopeful to visit Liberia anytime from now.

She told the participants that over 200 international friends and international communication experts from over 20 countriess across the globe including the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Nigeria have been invited to serve as special overseas correspondents of Hunan Daily.

On August 1, 2025, thirty Liberian journalists commenced a two-week media seminar in Changsha, Hunan Province, China

The training, themed “Seminar on Media Communication Capacity for Liberia,” is being hosted by the Hunan International Business Vocational College and sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy near Monrovia.

The seminar aims to enhance the capacity of Liberian media professionals in international reporting and cross-cultural communication. It covers a wide range of themes including: International communications, Local narratives and cross-cultural programming, Innovation in the omni-media era, Producing high-quality new media content, Building a talent ecosystem for future media development among others.

The program will run from August 1 to August 14, 2025, featuring lectures, interactive sessions, cultural immersion, and media facility visits.
