ADNews- Grand Bassa County: The management of Z&H Mining Company, based in the Neekrem Statutory District of Electoral District #2 in Grand Bassa County, has emphasized its commitment to community development, prioritizing local welfare over maximizing profits.
In a festive gesture over the weekend, the company’s top manager, Mr. Eric Liu, presented gifts to the elders of Neekrem Town and the local workforce. Mr. Liu stressed that the company’s presence in the area is not solely for financial gain but is focused on fostering development and building strong relationships with the people of Neekrem and surrounding areas.
“We are not here just to make money; our primary concern is to contribute to the development of this community and the country as a whole,” said Eric Liu. He further expressed the company’s commitment to taking on social responsibilities and helping the local community thrive.
Liu also extended his gratitude to the residents and elders of the district for their continued support and cooperation.
On Thursday, December 19, 2024, just days before Christmas, Z&H Mining Company distributed several bags of rice to local communities and their workforce as part of their celebration of the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The Commissioner of Neekrem Township, Mr. S. Daniel Gaybueh, received the festive gifts on behalf of the local leaders and residents. He expressed his appreciation, noting that this donation marked the first of its kind since he assumed leadership in the district.
Alex G. Blemah Jr., chairperson of the communities hosting the company’s concessions, commended Z&H for the donation and assured that the gifts would be used as intended.
The Speaker of Neekrem Town, Samuel Johnson, also joined in the celebrations, performing a ritual to show respect to the company for their generous gesture. Johnson referred to the gift as a significant blessing for the people of the township, saying, “This is the first time in Neekrem that a company has reached out to us with such a thoughtful Christmas gift.”
Meanwhile, Momo Vasseh, leader of the local workforce, received several bags of rice on behalf of his colleagues. He expressed deep gratitude for the gift, highlighting how it reflected the company’s genuine care and commitment to enhancing the well-being of its workforce. Momo noted that the gift would help alleviate some of the financial strain many workers face during the festive season, when expenses for food and clothing are particularly high.
He and his colleagues assured the company that the rice would be used for its intended purpose.
Eric Liu, in turn, reassured the workforce that the company’s commitment to their well-being remains a top priority.
Z&H Mining’s dedication to social responsibility and community development continues to strengthen its relationship with the people of Neekrem, exemplifying how corporate success can go hand in hand with contributing to the greater good.
