ADNews-Monrovia: The Assistant Commissioner of the Liberia National Police (ACP) with code (R2), Sam Gballah who was sidelined by the past Liberia National Police (LNP) authority for his alleged involvement in dubious and criminal acts, reinstated by the Current Police Inspector General (IG), Gregory Coleman name resurfaces in another desperate criminal operation victimizing foreign investors.
Police has confirmed dismissing one of the doers and interdicting two others for impropriety and gross misconduct.
Accordingly, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, during the evening hours, Patrolmen Augustine Ben and Sansee C. Massaquoi criminally entered the Hotel room of Mr. Nguyah Dean and Mr. Levan Tu, Vietnamese nationals at the Luxury Hotel in Thinkers Village arrested them without probable cause, confiscated Twenty-Four Thousand United States Dollars (USD24,000.00) and took them to Gballah’s office LNP Headquarters.
“The Businessmen were turned over to their supervisor Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sam Gballah (code name R2) who intimidated them and threatened to take mugshots”, police’s release stated.
However, the LNP authority has dismissed one of the doers, Sansee Massaquoi preserving Gballah (R-2) and Patrolman Augustine Ben (cyber), interdicted and forwarded to the Professional Standards Division (PSD) for investigation in accordance with what they termed as the Police Act.
Even though, R2 had been collaborating with Sansee and Ben, the Police IG further revealed that dismissed Patrolman Sansee has been under indefinite suspension since 2018 for Theft of Property.
Public opinion has turned sharply against Inspector General Coleman, with many criticizing him for being biased and unjust in his decision to reinstate Gballah, who had a history of alleged criminal behavior.
The situation continues to evolve, and further investigations are anticipated as the LNP seeks to address the concerns raised by this troubling incident.
