Sen. Cyrus  Secures $6M For Lofian Women

The Lofa County Senator,  Momo T.  Cyrus has disclosed the amount of Six Million Liberian Dollars for Women empowerment in Lofa County in an  effort to  help transform their lives

“We initially had a plan of 5M, but we will use now the 6M as a pilot as part of our plan empowerment to the Women of Lofa County, Senator Cyrus told reporters during an interview.

According to him, with the proper plan and mechanism being put in place, he is certain that the people, especially women,  will directly benefit from such significant empowerment to them.

He said the distribution process,  which will be done at the district level,  will cut across the entire  County.

“We will give the beneficiaries 90  and up to 120 days to see if they can multiply the money and if that works,  I will add the money up”, he assured his people.

The Lofian Lawmaker said he believes that when women are empowered, they can become independent and can contribute meaningfully to society.

Responding to a question about peace and reconciliation in Lofa County, Senator Cyrus also reemphasized the need to see a united Lofa.

Making reference to the political violence in Foya District, Lofa County, Mr. Cyrus said there is an investigation ongoing from the level of the County and the legislative Caucus to see the need to help address the issue.

He said a peace plan to help finally resolve the issue,  especially with the nominees who were nominated by President Joseph Nyumah Boakai but were allegedly involved in Foya District, Lofa violence and are yet to be confirmed is key.

“We want peace in Lofa and we will engage with our people to ensure that such is realized”, Senator Cyrus added.

The lawmaker and security expert at the same time named resilience and persistence as key to his journey.

Making reference to his company, the Security Expert Guard Agency of Liberia (SEGAL) , Mr. Cyrus stressed that he is giving back to his people through empowerment and job creation across the Country for about eighteen years now.

Currently, SEGAL as a hundred percent Liberian security firm has the largest employment of over three thousand employees with professionalism and reliance as paramount on his agenda.

Mr. Cyrus, also a humanitarian,  is contributing to the disabled community in Lofa County and Liberia in general.

As part of an infrastructure boost and empowerment to the disabled community, The Lofa County Senator constructed a 45,000usd home for the blind which is expected to be dedicated soon.

Responding to a question on his assessment of President Boakai’s government, he stated that he is impressed with his level of work done, thus far.

” He has love for this Country, he has the mindset to develop Liberia and his quest to move Liberia forward is,  key”, Senator Cyrus pointed out.

With his plan to work for a united Lofa including empowering his people, Senator Cyrus said he remains committed to making a difference for his people and Lofa in particular.
