ADNews-Monrovia: Right after attending the 47 Presidents of America, Donald J. Trump’s Inaugural activities, the former chairman of the then ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), Mulbah K. Morlu Jr. becomes more politically overcharged than ever before, declares intentions to unseat President Joseph Nyuma Boakai as he Characterized him, as “Public Enemy #1”.
Morlu, a current Chairperson of an advocate group, the Solidarity and Trust for a New Day (STAND), promises inevitable change and vows to hold Boakai accountable for the crimes and corruption plaguing Liberia under his watch.
Below is Morlu’s full statement
Ha! I’ve never witnessed a regime so fixated on trivial debates as the Boakai administration. While everything crumbles around you, you remain detached from the reality of Liberia’s suffering. Instead of addressing your collapsing government—now a liability to the nation—you’ve shifted focus to attacking me through your poorly trained propagandists. Why? Because I’ve declared that change is coming, and you will be held accountable for the crimes and corruption plaguing Liberia under your watch.
You’re afraid of the wrong person, Mr. President. Your fear should be directed at the people—they are the true custodians of power, and their demand for change is loud and clear. I am just a small part of a much larger movement, one that cannot be stopped unless meaningful reforms are implemented—a prospect unlikely under your leadership, as you refuse to listen. Without action, nonviolent reform will surge forward, unstoppable.
Your petty social media operatives, seeking relevance and combat experience, are no match for the strength and resilience of a movement too powerful to be subdued by tear gas or police bullets. To me, they are irrelevant. My caution is directed at you because you know me well—you served as Vice President under former President Sirleaf and are fully aware of our unwavering resolve. Just as you are determined to misuse power and keep the people oppressed, I am equally resolute—as part of a vast and unyielding movement—to resist you; we will defeat you because you’re public enemy #1. In the forthcoming nonviolent battle to restore Liberia’s lost dignity, we will stand firm and unwavering & we will win, for we hold the moral high ground.
But let me remind you further sir; no amount of petty attacks can stop the winds of change. It’s inevitable. You can either embrace reform and salvage some dignity, or resist it and be swept away by its unstoppable force.
Your surrogates’ desperate attempts are laughable. Their baseless claims about my invitation to President Trump’s inauguration only expose their own embarrassment. The facts are clear: I attended the inauguration, and you, President Boakai, were nowhere near Washington, D.C.—nor were your government officials. If attending was as simple as “walking in,” why didn’t they show up? Or your officials? Where were they?
Why didn’t they fly with you to D.C.? Oh wait, was your standby chartered jet grounded? Maybe the Liberia Revenue Authority hasn’t collected enough taxes to refuel it yet? Oops!
It’s no surprise your regime is failing. With a team skilled only in corruption and incompetence, how could it succeed? Your leadership is a burden on the Liberian people, and instead of working for change, you’re sinking deeper into failure. Remember: you can’t rescue anyone if you’re drowning yourself.
We’re preparing to return, and this time, the fight for Liberia’s future will be relentless. This isn’t just mere intellectualism; it’s about holding a corrupt regime accountable. The people deserve better, and they will get it. Change is coming—brace yourself.
