ADNews-Monrovia,Liberia: The Hope Liberia Canada Foundation (HLCF) has unveiled plans for a large-scale rehabilitation center, known as Hope Village, to be constructed in Bentol, Montserrado County. The facility is part of the organization’s Journey Against Violence initiative aimed at restoring hope to disadvantaged youth and Liberians struggling with substance abuse.

The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, and will feature a red-carpet event expected to draw President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Vice President Jeremiah Koung, cabinet ministers and other prominent national figures.

According to the foundation, the project is designed to host hundreds of substance-abuse victims, providing detox services and professional skills training to help restore their dignity and reintegrate them into society.

Speaking at the project site on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, Pastor Joe Amaral, a Canadian pastor, philanthropist and chief financier of the initiative, said his mission is to extend hope to “every single Liberian who has lost hope in any form or manner.”

Accompanied by two partners, Joey and Rory, Pastor Amaral noted that his latest visit marks his 16th trip to Liberia in less than six years.

“Anyone who needs hope is a beneficiary,” he said. “For those who have lost hope, we will give hope through our Hope for Liberia Canada Initiative. Liberia is not forgotten—God has a plan for this country, and His plan will surely come to pass.”

Evangelist Joshua Milton Blahyi, the foundation’s country director, emphasized the project’s standards and the range of services to be provided.Hope

He said the facility will offer medical care, skills training and general education to help beneficiaries reach the high-school level and qualify for the West African Examination Council (WAEC) exams. Those who graduate will be positioned to pursue university studies and become productive citizens.

“We have five acres of land reserved for the facility and two acres for agricultural activities,” Blahyi said. “We will host over 200 people per batch. Agriculture and construction will be compulsory training areas, while other skills will be optional. We will also have a hospital unit, a detox center where beneficiaries will stay for 21 days before joining their peers, an event hall and a sports center to keep them engaged and within the safety of the compound.”

Blahyi added that the foundation has already impacted communities in Montserrado, Nimba, Margibi, Bong and River Gee counties, with a long-term goal of reaching vulnerable Liberians nationwide.

After touring the proposed Hope Village site, Pastor Amaral and his team visited the Father’s Orphanage, located in the same community and constructed by the Hope Liberia Canada Foundation. The facility currently houses about 50 orphans.

The team received a warm welcome, with children and guardians singing as they toured the home. They delivered computers and school supplies to support the orphanage’s educational programs.

“We bought the land and built this facility last year,” Pastor Amaral said. “The children will live here until they are fully grown, independent and ready to move on. Our goal is to serve up to 100 orphans.”

Children at the orphanage expressed gratitude to Pastor Amaral and his team for their continued support, morally, educationally and socially.

Apostle Payeyealo Beinmie, head of the Father’s Orphanage Home, reported significant improvements at the facility, praising the foundation for its ongoing humanitarian services.

Evangelist Blahyi encouraged the children to take full advantage of the new computers.

“If you take your computer studies seriously, you will achieve a lot,” he told them.

At the end of the daylong visit, Pastor Amaral and his team promised to return on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, to share a special dinner with the children, including hamburgers, pizza and sandwiches, which some children will experience for their first time.
