ADNews-Monrovia, Liberia: Faith University College, located along the Roberts International Airport Highway in Lower Margibi County, on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, graduated over  30 students in various disciplines during its second commencement ceremony.

The institution, founded on a tuition-free model, is the only higher-learning institution in Liberia operating a credit-free system. Most students enroll for just US$30 per semester, and the university operates a fully equipped medical laboratory facility.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rev. Dr. Tailey Garley, Ph.D., president and founder of Faith University College, urged the graduates to use their education to inspire change in Liberia and beyond.

“It is with immense joy and a profound sense of hope that I stand before you today,” Dr. Garley said. “We gather not just to mark an ending, but to celebrate a beginning — the release of eagles — a symbol of strength, vision, and the unwavering pursuit of excellence.”

He reminded graduates that the university has instilled in them values of integrity, compassion, and faith, adding that these qualities should guide them in their personal and professional journeys.

“We have equipped you with the tools to succeed in your chosen fields and to become agents of positive change in Liberia and beyond,” he said, quoting Proverbs 27:17: “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

Guest speaker Georgette N. Gray, Deputy Director General for Administration at the Liberia Food Authority, challenged the graduates to uphold integrity and creativity as they pursue their goals.

“The purpose of education is to gain the vision to change society,” Gray said. “Create businesses that will generate job opportunities. Rather than seeking employment, become employers. Be creative. We live in a digital world, and you have opportunities that our foreparents never had.”

She encouraged the graduates to embrace innovation, adjust to global trends, and pursue their purpose with confidence, saying Liberia “always needs them.”

In recognition of her contributions to society and her inspirational message, Faith University College honored Mrs. Gray with its Excellent Leadership Award at the close of the ceremony.
