ADNews-Monrovia, Liberia: The Bishop of the Independent Catholic Church of Liberia, Bishop Nimley J. Donyen, has once again extended a helping hand to vulnerable communities, donating an additional 180 bags of 25kg rice to residents of the Kissi Koma Community in Monrovia and the Nyennehbo Community, a group of River Citizens.

This latest donation follows the Bishop’s earlier contribution of more than 2,000 bags of 25kg rice to flood victims and needy families in Montserrado and Bong Counties. The initiative underscores his continued commitment to providing relief for those affected by natural disasters and economic hardship.

“This donation is aimed at alleviating poverty and restoring hope to the vulnerable population,” Bishop Donyen stated. “I had planned to provide my people with good drinking water, but government politics halted the project. However, I believe that providing food for my people can not be stopped for political reasons.”

He stressed that his actions are rooted in his long-standing dedication to serving humanity and supporting the less fortunate.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Amos Wreh expressed heartfelt appreciation to Bishop Donyen and his partner organization, Compassion for Life, for what he described as a timely and compassionate gesture. He further encouraged other humanitarian groups and philanthropists to emulate the Bishop’s example.

Another beneficiary, Madam Mamie Gaye, praised the Bishop’s consistency in supporting communities during difficult times. “The Bishop is on time again. Now that schools are about to open and things are hard, this rice will help us save money that would have been used to buy food and instead put it toward our children’s school fees,” she said.

Bishop Donyen’s continued outreach efforts have earned him widespread admiration for his practical approach to addressing community needs and his unwavering commitment to uplifting struggling families across Liberia.
