ADNews-Monrovia, Liberia: The former Commissioner of West Point Township during the Coalition for Democrat Change’s (CDC) regime, William Wea has reportedly been arrested by state security with dangerous weapons at the former CDC party headquarters during its eviction.
Earlier Saturday morning, August 23, 2025, the Liberia National Police (LNP) in collaboration with the Sheriff from the Court implemented the long-standing order to evict the headquarters of the former ruling CDC after occupying the premises for about two decades.
The eviction sparked controversy over time, as CDC partisans were seen publicly boasting of resisting eviction brutally  that could plunge the country into chaos.
Wea, who served as Commissioner for six years under the CDC government, reportedly fell on hard times following the party’s exit from power. According to sources, he became homeless in less than two years into the opposition period after his wife allegedly expelled him from their home due to his inability to fulfil his responsibilities.
These circumstances compelled Wea to become a mere caretaker of former Monrovia City Mayor, Jefferson Koijee’s residence within the party headquarters and while at the same time serving as a clandestine cooperative to accomplish Koijee’s mission.
According to unconfirmed reports, Wea has been holding the ground, mobilising thugs on Koijee’s order to terrorise the state in the name of protecting the party’s interests.
