Key players from various sectors stepped up to contribute, showcasing their dedication to addressing the pressing health challenges faced by children in the region. This funding will enable the Senegalese Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene to respond effectively to critical vaccination needs. To ensure compliance with international health standards, the procurement of vaccines and necessary supplies will follow a collaborative framework involving organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and the SEN-Pharmacie Nationale d’Approvisionnement, which will facilitate seamless distribution to the targeted communities.
During the event, Professor Awa Marie Coll-Seck, Chair of the Board of Directors of AFRIVAC, delivered a speech that resonated with attendees. She emphasized the urgent need for African nations to harness their own resources while reducing dependency on external funding. “We can no longer depend exclusively on external funding; it is time to build an endogenous, innovative model based on the mobilization of local resources and public-private partnerships,” she asserted, inspiring all present to rethink traditional funding approaches.

The evening’s program featured presentations from health experts, interactive discussions, and personal testimonials from families directly impacted by vaccination programs. These heartfelt stories highlighted the urgent need for community engagement and local investment in health initiatives. Mr. Serigne Mbaye, Secretary General of the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene, echoed the sentiments expressed by Professor Coll-Seck. Representing Dr. Ibrahima Sy, the Minister of Health and Public Hygiene, he stated, “Every contribution, every commitment is a brick in the edifice of our health sovereignty.” His words reinforced the idea that collective efforts are essential for creating a robust health system that serves the needs of every child.
AFRIVAC also took the opportunity to recognize the dedication of its partners and supporters, thanking donors, volunteers, and artists alike, who dedicated their time and talents to ensure the event’s success. These artists not only entertained but also spread awareness of the importance of vaccinations, helping to foster a culture of health and responsibility within the community.
As the evening came to a close, attendees left with a renewed sense of purpose and determination to unite in their efforts to ensure that every African child has access to vital vaccinations. AFRIVAC stands at the forefront of these initiatives, championing innovative solutions and sustainable practices that promote health sovereignty across the continent.
Through these collaborative efforts, AFRIVAC continues to lead the charge in improving child vaccination initiatives throughout Africa, demonstrating that when individuals and organizations come together, they can effect real and lasting change in health and well-being. With a clear vision and commitment, AFRIVAC is poised to make significant strides toward a healthier future for all African children.
