ADNews-Monrovia,Liberia: The Joint Security Operation has made an unprecedented bust of a huge quantity of drugs worth over US$175 million amidst the ongoing controversial  $19.2M drug case that is gradually fading, as the Government of Liberia seems unbothered to impartially investigate.

On Tuesday,  July 21 2023, the Liberia National Police (LNP), working in close collaboration with the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), intercepted a major illegal drug shipment along the Robert International Airport Highway in the Suburb part of Monrovia.

During  the operation, two white foreign nationals connected to the shipment were apprehended   and are currently  undergoing  investigation.

According to  sources, one of the foreign nationals arrested is from Colombia while the other one is from Spain.

This is one of the most significant anti-drug operations in recent years and marks a major step in Liberia’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and transnational organized crime.Authorities say additional details, including the type and quantity of the narcotics, as well as the circumstances surrounding the interception, will be released as the investigation progresses.
