The exercise forms part of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s 2023 campaign commitments, during which he pledged to establish a modern convention center in Suakoko, Bong County, aimed at hosting national and international events if elected.

The survey, conducted on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, brought together representatives from the LLA, Bong County Administration, the General Services Agency (GSA), members of the media, and local residents, who gathered to witness the process.

Speaking to Afric Daily Newspaper, Bong County Land Administrator Amelia Cassell Massaquoi said the survey was intended to legally secure land for the government to proceed with construction of the convention center. She noted that the facility is expected to attract both national and international guests to the county.

Massaquoi explained that the survey process, which began in 2024, was carried out to prevent future land disputes and ensure a smooth implementation of the project.

She added that the proposed development is expected to have a significant positive impact on the livelihoods of residents in Suakoko District and the broader central region of Liberia.

Massaquoi confirmed that the survey was conducted peacefully and commended community members for their cooperation in ensuring the successful demarcation of the land for the proposed national convention center.

Meanwhile, Ezekiel Boimah, a resident of Suakoko District and supervisor of the land brushing exercise at the project site, expressed appreciation to the LLA, the Bong County Superintendent’s Office, and the Government of Liberia for initiating the project.

Boimah said the convention center would create employment opportunities for residents of the district and surrounding communities. He urged the government to fully implement the project to ensure that Bong County benefits from a modern facility capable of hosting local and international partners.

He also called on citizens to support development initiatives, particularly the proposed national convention center, which he described as a transformative project for Suakoko District and Bong County at large.
