ADNews-Monrovia, Liberia: The Liberia Political Centrism Movement (LPCM), led by Counselor Kanio Bai Gbala, has formally pledged its support to President Joseph N. Boakai and his administration’s approach to governance and national development.

Heading a high-level LPCM delegation during a recent meeting with the president, Gbala said the group’s endorsement followed a long period of observation of President Boakai’s efforts to unite the country and steer it toward sustained progress. He said the LPCM considered it necessary to back the administration’s agenda and offer its cooperation.

Gbala described the LPCM as a movement of professionals from diverse political backgrounds, including many from the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) as well as individuals without formal political affiliations. Despite their varied histories, he said, members share a belief in mature politics, national advancement and prioritizing Liberia above partisan divisions.

He said the delegation’s visit was meant to express support for what the administration has achieved so far and to reaffirm the movement’s willingness to collaborate on initiatives aimed at driving development.

Gbala emphasized that political opposition does not need to be hostile or counterproductive. Instead, he said, opposition is most effective when grounded in constructive, objective and well-intentioned engagement focused solely on advancing the nation’s interests.

Other members of the delegation echoed this sentiment, expressing their shared concern for Liberia’s direction and the need for collective action to secure meaningful progress.

President Boakai welcomed the movement’s endorsement and thanked its leadership and members for their expression of confidence. He said his focus remains on national advancement rather than partisan considerations.

The president also used the occasion to speak to the group of young professionals about his decades of public service, underscoring his long-standing commitment to unity, collaboration and development-oriented governance.

The meeting concluded with the LPCM presenting President Boakai with a branded movement T-shirt and cap, a symbolic gesture of their support, which the president accepted with appreciation.
