ADNews-Monrovia,Liberia:In his continued commitment to serving humanity, Bishop Nimely J. Donyen, head of the Independent Catholic Church of Liberia, has graduated dozens of Liberians from a vocational training program, equipping them with practical skills for the global job market.

The ceremony was held at the Bishop Donyen Vocational School in the Saah Store, Pepperwulu Town Community, Johnsonville Township. The institution, founded by Bishop Donyen on February 8, 2024, offers skills training to youth and adults, particularly those unable to complete high school or further their education due to financial or personal constraints.

The school provides courses in tailoring, tie-dyeing, soap making, catering, and hairdressing.

Speaking at the school’s second graduation ceremony over the weekend, Bishop Donyen congratulated the graduates and urged them to make use of their newfound skills to improve their lives and contribute to society.

“No knowledge goes in vain,” he told the audience. “Learn to be useful in society. You have graduated and learned a trade,it is yours wherever you go. It’s something no one can take from you. You have joined the job market today. Whenever there’s a call for caterers or other skilled workers, your names will be among them.”

Bishop Donyen also expressed gratitude to God and the teaching staff for their dedication and commitment to ensuring the program’s success.

In appreciation of his leadership and humanitarian service, the school’s administration gowned the Bishop as a token of gratitude for his efforts in transforming lives through education.Donyen

One of the graduates, Jartu V. Sheriff, from the catering department, expressed deep appreciation to the Bishop and the school for providing her with the opportunity to learn a trade that will improve her livelihood.

“My sister is a caterer and has many contracts,” Sheriff said. “With the knowledge I’ve gained, I can now assist her and also provide catering services on my own to earn a living.”

Another graduate, Jeremiah Nablo, from the tailoring department, shared his excitement and described how the training had positively impacted his life.

“Now I am a trained tailor, and I have the skills to live a better life,” Nablo said. “This is a happy day that I will always remember. I thank Bishop Donyen for this initiative and encourage my peers to take advantage of such opportunities.”

The Bishop Donyen Vocational School continues to stand as a beacon of hope, empowering Liberians with practical skills to foster self-reliance and economic growth.
