ADNews-Monrovia: The top-notch ruling Unity Partisans, critics of yesterday’s activities while in opposition are deeply involved in doing waster than what they saw as a mockery to the citizenries.
Just 11 months into power, top-ranking members of the ruling Unity Party are facing sharp criticism for what some view as hypocrisy after they previously condemned similar behavior during their time in opposition. Critics argue that the lavish lifestyles of these officials contradict the values they once espoused, creating a stark contrast with the hardships many ordinary Liberians continue to endure.
“Why did you criticize George Weah when he swam in Grand Cape Mount during a period of extreme hardship and crisis? Why did you criticize Eugene Nagbe for patronizing a local business and eating lobsters while Liberians suffered?” asked Martin K.N. Kollie, a key member of the Unity Party, pointing out the shift in behavior.
Mohammed Ali, Patrick Honnah, and Cornelia Kruah, officials from the Water and Sewer Corporation, the Liberia Telecommunications Authority, and the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, respectively, have all been caught in the public eye for their recent extravagant lifestyle.
Responding to their critics, Kruah posted on her official Facebook as ” Next weekend da cape Mount I’m going….Da lay sky blue dig my back swimsuit I’m wearing own pa”
Ali said, “Water man get in water to know the quality of water we need, then your jerking. Y’all good night from Nimba mehn”
Critics note that these individuals once condemned such excesses when they could not afford such lifestyles. Now, however, they have become some of the very figures they once denounced, seemingly unbothered by the contradiction.
As these officials continue to display their newfound wealth, the public remains separated, questioning the authenticity of their previous stance on economic equality.
