ADNews-Monrovia, Liberia: Afriland First Bank Liberia Limited has confirmed the arrest and forwarding to court of some of its employees, linking them to alleged criminal activities at the bank.

The Bank, in a press Release issued on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, confirmed that following an internal investigation into what the bank management described as an act of misconduct by some of its employees, the matter was reported, investigated and sent to court to put an end to such ugly practices, something that could create a bad impression for the bank.
Afriland First Bank Liberia Limited said, to not encourage such a happening again, the management took decisive strike by inviting the Liberia National police to arrest individuals believed to have been involved with the criminally minded activities to face criminal prosecution under the Allied Act of fraud and financial impropriety.
The Afriland First Bank Liberia Limited reassured its customers and the general public that it will do all in its power to protect their interests in upholding financial disciplines at all times in its dealings.
“Afriland First Bank Liberia Limited remains financially disciplined to all customers and direct deposit to the Bank accounts,” the release recounted.
The bank, according to the release, immediately suspended those individuals who sought to undermine the bank’s policy and conduct.
“Afriland First Bank Liberia remains committed to upholding integrity, transparency, and accountability.
“We reassure all customers that deposits are safe and secure, as operations continue as normal, and our zero-tolerance policy on fraud ensures your trust remains our top priority,” the Bank’s Press Release concluded.
