Sethi Rains Terror at Local Workers, Medical Report Confirms Hearing loss of one Victim

ADNews-Monrovia, Liberia: Local workers at Sethi Ferro Fabrik have raised serious alarm over what they describe as “modern-day slavery” and persistent abuse carried out by some Indian staff, creating a toxic and hostile work environment for Liberians.

Few days ago, over 15 local workers were reportedly wrongfully dismissed by the company.

The aggrieved workers have said the company’s management is compromising their human dignity and failing to protect their basic labor rights.

Victim’s Statement

Information obtained by Afric Daily News suggests that several  Liberian workers face physical assault at work,   unnecessary deduction of their wages, and wrongful dismissal on a daily basis.

One of the victims   A. Walker Jorkeah, was brutalized and sustained ear damage by an Indian National, Ajay Kumar, for repeating the same word used against him.

The incident occurred while  Walker was en route to the bathroom,  greeted  Ajay in the corridor and repeated a statement  Ajay used on him in Hindi.

Medical Report

Unexpected,  Indian Ajay Stuck Walker in the head, causing him to bleed profusely from his nose and other parts of his body, leaving intense pain in his ear that has  caused total damage to his ear, a medical report from JFK Hospital confirmed.

Even though the act was reportedly captured on CCTV, Sethi has failed to take any appropriate action to protect Walker’s health, human dignity, and labor rights.

Victims claim the incident took place on March 20, 2025, and said that the company has yet to take responsibility or provide any form of redress.

Sethi Ferro  Fabrik is an Indian-owned manufacturing company based in Monrovia, specializing in the production of steel rods, but continues to face criticism over its terrible labour practices,  Inhumane treatments that have resulted in many lives lost, and substandard quality of its products.

Efforts to obtain a response from the management of Sethi Fallo Fabric were unsuccessful  as the investigation continues

However, it’s important that these allegations be brought to the attention of relevant government institutions to launch a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure accountability and the protection of workers’ rights.
