Investigation

ADNews-Monrovia: The management of the National Housing  Authority (NHA) under the watch of its new Director,  Florence K. Geegbea has allegedly been involved in the clandestine sale of public reserved lands meant for public purposes in the  NASSCORP Village. creating serious calamity among the township dwellers.

NHA’s unscrupulous behavior has heightened tension in the Estate and led to two close neighbors, Hawa Mai Sheriff of Houses number G-17 & 18 with Christine S.Towee and David Frankin Towee House number G- 20 to face a legal battle while the  NHA Director, Florence remains tied lips.

Some residents are resisting the action of NHA  for selling the public reserved land meant for hospitals, marketplaces, police stations, and other functions for the community dwellers within the NASSCORP Village in Brewerville Township.

A man believed to be the fiancé of Hawa Mai Sheriff, James S. Peal Jr. the owner of House Number G-17 and  G-18  who got her Clarence from NHA on April 10, 2024, said additional land was sold to them, a reserved land meant for the surrounding households commonly known as (Free Element)  meant for only public use such as packing lot, hospital etc.

The neighbors including the Chairman of NASSCORP Village, Mr. Emmanuel Toe have challenged the sale of these public spaces to private individuals.

According to them,  the reserved spaces are meant for only public use but not to be sold to individuals which the new NHA boss also confirmed via phone communication.

The investigation has linked the Real  Estate Director only identified as  Dixon Nebo with phone number, 0886455236, a surveyor only identified as Gray 0770299428, one Mr. Sam with phone number, 0776093196 who believed to be a chief security of NHA  for criminally collaborating in selling the reserved public lands.

Meanwhile, instead of developing the remaining estate land around the NASSCORP Village, NHA has sold all to private individuals outside of the Estate premises where construction projects are currently ongoing.

When contacted for clarification, Florence K. Geegbea stated that she had not visited the site since her appointment. She promised to visit on August 29, 2024, with her team to reassess the properties and address the conflict but failed to follow her commitment, leaving residents frustrated.

Florence’s deceitful action has exacerbated concerns about the safety and stability of NASSCORP Village as the ongoing corrupt practices within the NHA continue to threaten the community’s well-being.

A  letter in our possession from the Brewervile Magisterial Court showed that  Florence K. Geegbea has also been requested by the court to provide clarity in the NASSCORP Village unscrupulous land deal.Accordingly, she is yet to collaborate  with the court request while many are  pointing fingers at her as the major perpetrator hiding under her junior staff.

Below is the court request;

Honorable Florence K. Geegbea Managing Director National Housing Authority August 8, 2024,

Dear Honorable Geegbea: Accept my compliments and best wishes. By directive of His Honor Ernest F.B. Bana, you are hereby to give further clarity to the square centered within your housing units, the Nasscorp Village in Brewerville in regards to:

  1. a) Original intent of the square or open space within the units;
  2. b) The terms and conditions for sale to any of your tenants if such policy exists; c) And whether it can be sold to an individual without breaching the original intent of the establishment of the square, and the procedure for sale.

Our inquest is based on a commotion between your tenants, Hawa Mai Sheriff, G17-18; and Christine S. Towee and David Franklin Towee, G-20 in regards to the open space that is currently pending before the court in the criminal action of Trespass. We hope to get a respond within seven working days as of the date of receipt of this communication.

The situation remains unresolved, with residents and officials calling for immediate action to address the corruption and restore the integrity of the NHA’s management while the  community’s patience is wearing thin as they await a resolution to this pressing issue.

Investigation continues as we keep deepening deeper into the circumstances.
