ADNews-Monrovia,Liberia: The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MGCSP), through the Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP), will convene a three-day Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Core Concept Modules Validation Workshop from June 9–11, 2026, at Kendeja Resort, ELWA Rehab.

The workshop will bring together government institutions, development partners, technical experts, and key stakeholders to jointly review and validate a set of core concept modules developed to strengthen Gender-Based Violence prevention and response programming under the Liberia Women Empowerment Project.

The validation exercise will focus on modules covering Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Psychosocial First Aid (PFA), Psychosocial Support (PSS), Safe and Ethical Referrals, Community Engagement and Social Norms Change, Self-Care and Staff Wellbeing, and Action Planning.

These modules have been developed to strengthen knowledge, promote standardized messaging, and enhance coordinated implementation across sectors. The validation process will ensure that the content is technically sound, contextually relevant, aligned with national priorities, and responsive to the needs of communities across Liberia.

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection recognizes the importance of collaboration and technical expertise in advancing efforts to prevent and respond to gender-based violence and improve access to quality support services for women and girls.

Through the Liberia Women Empowerment Project, the Government of Liberia continues to invest in strengthening community systems, promoting positive social norms, and creating safer environments for women and girls.

The Liberia Women Empowerment Project is implemented by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection with financing support from the World Bank.
