ADNews-Monrovia: The Majority Bloc of the 55th House of Representatives has, with immediate effect, suspended Representatives Marvin J. Cole of Bong County District #3, Abu Kamara of Montserrado County District #15, and Edward P. Flomo of Montserrado County District #13 for thirty legislative meeting days. The suspension also entails the removal of their legislative benefits, and they are instructed to refrain from participating in any legislative functions.

This decision was made following the lawmakers’ failure to appear before the investigative committee of the House in response to allegations of gross disrespect and actions bringing the House into public disrepute. The Majority Bloc’s decision is in accordance with the House’s Standing Rules, specifically Rule 48.1 and related provisions.

Meanwhile, Representatives Frank Saah Foko, Alex S. Noah, and Zinnah Norman remain under investigation by the Committee of the Whole, with a final decision expected to be made on November 21, 2024.

In a related development, the Majority Bloc voted unanimously to remove Representative Dixon Seboe and Representative Ellen Attoh Wreh as Chair and Co-Chair of the Ways, Means, Finance, and Budget Committee. The Bloc has further mandated that the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank of Liberia, and all commercial banks cease conducting business with them on behalf of the House of Representatives.

Additionally, new appointments were made to key committee positions including Rep. Mike Jurry of District #1, Maryland County, has been appointed as Acting Chair of the Ways, Means, and Finance Committee.

Rep. James Kolleh of District #2, Bong County, will serve as Acting Chair of the Rules, Order, and Administration Committee.

Rep. Prince Koniah of District #1, Bong County, has replaced Rep. Dorwon Gleekia as an Acting Member of the Public Accounts and Audit Committee of the 55th House of Representatives.

As the struggle to remove Koffa intensifies, the decisions were made during the 10th-day sitting of the Majority Bloc on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the Joint Chamber of the Capitol Building.

Meanwhile,  two Representatives from Speaker J. Fonati Koffa’s Bloc officially joined the Majority Bloc in the joint chamber during Tuesday’s plenary Sitting, citing their love for the Country is above individual interest.

Montserrado County District 17 Representative Bernard DJ Blue Benson and Representative Zinnah Norma of Gbapolu District 1 made the move amidst the political instability at the  Capital Hill.
