Gono has implemented several initiatives aimed at combating crime and enhancing law and order in the region. These efforts have contributed to a decrease in crime rates, particularly in robbery and theft cases, and an increase in successful investigations and prosecutions.
One of Gono’s key accomplishments has been the strengthening of community relations. By introducing community outreach programs and establishing a community policing strategy, he has fostered increased trust and cooperation between the police and local residents. Gono’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. He was honored as the Officer of the Year for the entire Region (Bong, Lofa, and Nimba counties) by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) in 2023. Currently, he is furthering his expertise at the Cairo Police Academy in Egypt through specialized police training courses.
