Built by the Theola Bright Foundation with support from the We Dream in Colors Foundation, the newly constructed facility is capable of hosting  60 to 70 students at a time.

Speaking during the turnover ceremony over the weekend,   the Life Preparation Academy Proprietor, Rev. Blama Duwah expressed heartfelt gratitude for the gesture, noting that the cafeteria comes as a solution to a long-standing problem.

Blamo said that students previously had to eat on the floor or standing due to the lack of a proper dining facility.

“This cafeteria is an answer to a great need,” the Proprietor said. “Now our students will no longer eat in discomfort. They finally have a clean and comfortable place to enjoy their meals.”

Theola Bright, Founder and Executive Director of the Theola Bright Foundation,  disclosed that she was moved to take on the project after observing the unhygienic conditions under which students at the school were experiencing.

“I saw the need to build a space where the children could eat in a safe environment,” she said. “The food they eat can sometimes get contaminated, and that can pose serious health risks. This cafeteria helps protect their health and dignity.”

She further revealed that her foundation is also preparing to implement a school-based feeding program to ensure that no student has to learn on an empty stomach. The initiative, she said, aligns with their mission to support education through holistic child welfare.

At the same time,  the We Dream in Colors Foundation, under the leadership of its Founder and Executive Director, Quinton de’ Alexander also known as Chief Tamba Taylor donated a range of essential school supplies and food items to the students.

The donations included books, back begs, pencils, coloring materials, and other vital school supplies aimed at assisting parents who struggle to afford educational materials for their children. Chief Tamba Taylor also presented several rice and other staple food items to support the school’s feeding program.

The students, many of whom were visibly excited, expressed gratitude to Chief Taylor for the much-needed support.

As Liberia continues to recover from years of hardship and rebuild its educational infrastructure, Quinton de’ Alexander and the We Dream in Colors Foundation stand as a shining example of what is possible when global citizens take action.

The event concluded with performances from the students and a tour of the new cafeteria, which has already begun serving its purpose as a safe, welcoming space for students to dine and socialize.

With the combined efforts of the Theola Bright Foundation and the We Dream in Colors Foundation, the Life Preparation Academy is now in a better position to offer a more supportive and child-friendly learning environment, as the  cafeteria is more than just  a building  but a symbol of hope for children’s future
