ADNews- Lofa County: As part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Liberia, the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has taken decisive action following the interception of a major drug shipment in Foya District, Lofa County, on March 17, 2025. The case, currently before the Tenth Judicial Circuit Court of Lofa County, remains under legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, to reinforce the agency’s commitment to eradicating illegal substances under the leadership of Director General, Hon. Anthony K. Souh, today, 772 plates of high-grade marijuana and 8 boxes of Tramadol were burned. This destruction serves as a strong message against drug-related crimes in Liberia.
Hon. Souh, alongside the dedicated men and women of the LDEA, extends profound appreciation to the County Attorney and the Joint Security of Lofa County for their collaboration in this case and many others. Their collective efforts continue to make Liberia a safer place. He further applauds their dedication and urges them to remain steadfast in their commitment to justice and public safety.
A special acknowledgment also goes to the Acting Chief of Leeward S/A Precious Rue for her proactive leadership and for ensuring the necessary representation was present in Lofa to witness the destruction of these dangerous substances.
The LDEA remains unwavering in its mission to rid Liberia of illicit drugs and safeguard the future of its people. Together, we stand stronger against drug trafficking.
