ADNews-Monrovia: The Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary (LBTS) celebrates the biggest graduation ceremony as its 42 Commencement Convocation emerges with its first Cohorts of the Institution’s Graduate Students.
On Sunday, December 8, 53 students graduated in various disciplines with Master’s, Bachelor’s Degrees, and Certificates at the Institution’s main campuses in Paynesville along the Robert International Airport (RIA).
In a remark, Amb. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr., Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary, Political Leader & Standard Bearer of the Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) & Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, emphasized that Education is a powerful tool for transformation as it shapes their understanding of the world and equips them to address the complex challenges faced in society.
Kemayah commended the graduates for their dedication to rigorous academic study, noting that their educational journey had deepened their faith and honed their ability to think critically and compassionately.
According to him, these skills are essential as they step into roles that will influence and inspire change in their respective communities and society in general.
He urged the graduates to be vigilant, as the world they are entering is full of both opportunities and challenges. “Education has prepared you to confront issues such as inequality, injustice, and despair with knowledge, empathy, and faith,” Kemayah continued. “The true value of your education lies not only in what you have learned but in how you apply that knowledge to uplift others and foster positive change in society and the world.”
“As you go forth, commit to being lifelong learners and advocates for education within your respective communities and our Country as a whole. Encourage others to pursue knowledge, and to seek understanding through the lens of faith. Your role as leaders in the church and society is vital in promoting a culture of learning, growth and development.
“Congratulations, Class of 2024! May your journey ahead be filled with purpose and impact. As you embrace your calling, remember that you have the power to transform lives and communities through your faith and your education.
