The Central Command of the Green Revolution of Liberia calls on the government of President Joe Biden of the United States of America to withdraw her Chargé d’Affaires (CDA) Rodriguez for her disrespectful and undemocratic attitude toward the government and people of Liberia who have been their long time partners and supporter of her many agendas.
“On the occasion marking our independence as a sovereign nation, one of our citizens was selected by a well-balanced committee to serve as the 177th independence orator Dr. Robtel Neajay with no cohesion under the principles of freedom of speech, wrote her speech with no consultation to us as a people and government mounted the podium and read her speech with even diminishing classifications to government and people of this country but unfortunately, a country presume as a champion of freedom of Liberty choose to work out of the program only because a single line of the oration was not favorable to the country’s policies was truthfully pronounced,” the stated in their press release.
Green Revolution characterized her action as troubling and undiplomatic, saying they would accept no apology but her withdrawal from Liberia.
“Like the orator said, Liberia is not a step child to any country or a dump site.
Who determines that the national orator was divisive and that she made unfounded accusations? Where you are not a guest, or you just elevated the orator’s points and feel that a sovereign nation like ours doesn’t matter.
“Madam Rodriguez’s claimed that the United States has a long history of providing foreign assistance, amounting to at least $163 million annually but she insincerely failed to explain how this same Liberia has been used by her country as puppets or surrogates in Africa since war world II to now, how many US positions haven’t we supported at the UN thereby creating enemy ship for us around the world, imagine how their citizens came into the country and secure our lucrative jobs and positions steal millions from country institute unfair deals and call them bi-lateral agreements in a disadvantage points knowing fully well our negotiating powers are limited.
“Needles to talk of their bullying skills and tactics, abuse of office and many more. Our complaints are made but not honored rather those American criminals enjoy impunity. Talk of the 164 million these monies are being escorted by the same citizens of the United States to enjoy the best out of it in terms of personnel, monitoring and evaluation etc.,” the group’s press statement explains. The Chairman of the group, Varney Kromah reiterates their commitment towards the Orator’s remarks, saying that the orator’s single paragraph that talks about the U.S insincerity in dealing with them is true and it represents the view of Pan-Africanism and those of them who are patriots believe that it expects better.
“What is wrong in this single paragraph of the orator’s entire statement?
” Truth be told, this so-called special relationship only exists in our imagination. Lest we forget, the United States was one of the last countries to recognize our independence. Lest we forget also, the United States has taken more from us than it has given Lest we forget, the United States will always serve its own interests above all else. Once we accept these truths, we will appreciate that a reimagined Liberia can never be anyone’s stepchild. A reimagined Liberia is not only free from colonial relationships of power, it is also free from colonial artifacts that cripple us. In this vein, I would like to renew previous calls to adopt national symbols that represent the ” cultural breadth and historical depth” of our shared experiences. I urge us to forge a new political identity by reimagining and revising these symbols. Why is the national motto on our seal not to be replaced rather than The Love of Liberty United us here as suggested by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s final report,” Chairman Kromah narrated.
The US-CDA Rodriguez’s decision to walk out of the program was showmanship, dictatorial and very disrespectful to them as a country and its many other guests.
We also condemned what they termed as hypocritical statements issued by the chairperson of the Unity party and CDC emphasizing that the colonial Master’s actions are responsible for the abject poverty the Liberians continue to suffer
“We further call on our government not to take this undiplomatic and disrespectful act by a low-level official of the US EMBASSY lightly,” they concluded.
