ADNews-Monrovia, Liberia: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has discovered and banned a Chinese company, Rui Xu, from operating in Johnsonville Township, outside Monrovia, for posing a serious environmental threat to hundreds of thousands of residents.
According to sources within the EPA, Rui Xu illegally tampered with wheatland and constructed a complete blockage across a vast swampy area in an effort to produce concrete. This action significantly increased the risk of severe flooding in the nearby communities of New Jerusalem, Greenland and others during the rainy season.
In line with its mandate to prevent environmental hazards, the EPA swiftly intervened, dismantling the facility and revoking Rui Xu’s operating permit until further notice.
Local residents have expressed deep appreciation for the EPA’s timely response, praising the agency for taking decisive action to prevent what could have been a catastrophic disaster.
