China, Liberia Officials Discuss Stronger Cooperation in Mining, Energy

ADNews-Monrovia,Liberia: Chines Ambassador to Liberia, H.E Yin Chengwu met with newly appointed Minister of Mines and Energy R. Matonekay Tingban on Friday, November 21, 2025, to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Yin congratulated Tingban on his appointment and outlined the current state of China-Liberia relations. He expressed optimism that both countries would work together to implement the key agreements reached between their presidents during the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). He highlighted mining and energy as priority areas for deeper collaboration.
The ambassador also briefed the minister on major outcomes from the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, stressing China’s commitment to supporting Liberia’s development goals.
Tingban thanked Ambassador Yin for the warm congratulations and reaffirmed Liberia’s appreciation for China’s longstanding support. He acknowledged the progress made in bilateral cooperation, particularly in the mining and energy sectors, and expressed willingness to further expand partnership and technical exchanges.
Following the meeting, Ambassador Yin participated in the official handover ceremony for the new Minister of Mines and Energy.
