China  Celebrates 75th Anniversary

ADNews- Monrovia: The Chinese Embassy in Liberia hosted a reception to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, attended by over 400 guests. Among the distinguished attendees were  Jeremiah Kpan Koung, Vice President of Liberia;  Sylvester M. Grigsby, Minister of State for Presidential Affairs; and  Cllr. Deweh E. Gray, Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs, along with various dignitaries, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives from Chinese enterprises and the local Chinese community.

The program was at the Chinese Embassy near Monrovia over the weekend,  Saturday  September 27th.

In his speech, Ambassador Yin Chengwu highlighted the significant development achievements of China over the past 75 years. He emphasized the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and discussed the outcomes of the recent Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. Ambassador Yin reaffirmed China’s commitment to collaborating with Liberia to implement the strategic agreements reached by the two countries’ leaders, aiming to elevate the China-Liberia strategic partnership to new heights.

Vice President Koung and Minister Grigsby, representing Liberia, extended warm National Day congratulations to the Chinese government and people. They praised China’s development accomplishments and expressed gratitude for its support in Liberia’s development. Both officials reiterated their commitment to the one-China principle and to fostering friendly cooperation between Liberia and China.

The reception exuded a warm and friendly atmosphere, with guests raising their glasses to toast the enduring friendship between the two nations. The evening featured cultural performances, including Chinese and Liberian songs and martial arts demonstrations, which garnered enthusiastic applause from the audience.
