A letter dated February 7, 2025, and signed by Eric Augustine Fredericks, Interim Deputy Managing Director for Administration, stated that Farley’s suspension was effective immediately pending an investigation. Copies of the letter were also sent to Interim Managing Director Thomas Z. Gonkerwon and LEC Board Chairman Cllr. Emmanuel A. Tulay.

According to the letter, Farley allegedly spread inaccurate information regarding LEC’s energy supply arrangement with Côte d’Ivoire’s CIENERGIES and COMPAGNIE IVOIRIENNE D’ELECTRICITE (CIE). While acknowledging minor technical issues with Ivory Coast’s power providers, LEC maintained that its Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) remained intact and fully operational.

The suspension order further stated that Farley’s actions violated the regulations set forth by the Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC) and brought disrepute to the corporation.

“Your conduct in this matter is in clear violation of our communication rules and has undermined the progress made by LEC,” the letter read.
