Don’t Bow To  PYJ’s Morale

It's Time for Justice

The former rebel leader of the defunct Independent Patriotic Front of Liberia (INPFL)  found great pleasure in using threatening words, and intimidation to gain political favor and escape justice, though he gruesomely murdered President Samuel K. Doe, and reportedly killed several innocent civilians and  carried out uncountable human rights violations

Despite his heinous acts during the civil war, Senator PYJ now finds himself as the greatest beneficiary of his own “wicked actions”, and is being hailed as a political godfather in Nimba County, the second most populated voting constituency.

However, PYJ’s greatest fear lies in the prospect of facing the War Crimes Court (WCC). This fear manifests in his confusion, absent-mindedness, and loss of control whenever the WCC is mentioned.

The level of fear for justice embarrasses the former rebel leader to the extent he always uses words such as: “They are against Nimba County that is why they want to bring the WCC. I will turn your table around and Liberia will degenerate into another civil war. If you touch me you touch  Nimba and I still have my commandos etc, to dissuade support for the WCC and avoid being held accountable for his actions during the war.

PYJ successfully employed these deceptive tactics from 2006 to 2017 under the administration of former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, who had direct or indirect connections to the civil war.

Meanwhile, former president George Weah who succeeded President Sirleaf in the 2017 presidential elections and governed the country from 2018 to early 2024  succumbed to Sen. PYJ Morale and tactics, even though his party, Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) advocated for WCC for 12 years in opposition as far as marching with caskets on the streets of Monrovia in demanding justice for war victims.

As the saying goes, “Everything has its time.” The time has come for Sen. PYJ to face the War Crimes Court and be held accountable for his actions during the 14-year brutal civil war, which claimed the lives of over 250,000 innocent civilians.

From this point forward, Sen. PYJ has no support, no connections, no ability, and absolutely no power to cause chaos. He is merely using his deceptive guerrilla tactics to instill fear and evade justice.

It is time for PYJ and others like him to be held accountable. Doing so will serve as a deterrent and safeguard our country from similar atrocities in the future.
