The donation was made on November 29 on the university’s main campus in Fissebu by Mrs. Younger Barco Cole, a native of Zorlayea District. Cole said the contribution represents her personal commitment to the development of Lofa County and to easing some of the university’s financial burdens.
Cole said the gesture was in response to a request from the university for assistance, noting that the institution plays a significant role in building human capacity and contributing to national development.
She praised the administration and student body for the progress being made on the campus and urged other sons and daughters of Lofa County to support CAN-U’s ongoing initiatives. Cole, who also serves as CEO of Nemeikpoma, reaffirmed her dedication to women and youth empowerment in Zorlayea District and the county at large.
In a separate contribution, Cole provided an additional 50 bags of cement to youth in Telemai Town, Salayea District, to support the construction of a community youth center. She encouraged young people to remain focused on their goals as future leaders of Liberia.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the institution, CAN-U Founder and Chief Executive Officer Eric W. Wowoh thanked Cole for identifying with the university at a critical time in its infrastructure development efforts.
Wowoh said the donation will be used for its intended purpose and called on other well-meaning citizens to support the project. He emphasized that the university’s current expansion requires collective contributions from Lofa’s sons and daughters.
Change Agent Network University is one of Lofa County’s leading higher learning institutions, serving students from Salayea, Zorzor and surrounding areas. The university is officially accredited by the National Commission on Higher Education.
