Speaking on a local radio station in the county, Elder David B.K. Gbenequelleh alleged that the lawmaker has failed the district in critical areas of infrastructure development and other essential responsibilities.
Gbenequelleh, a recognized elder of District #2, said he was speaking on behalf of residents who feel abandoned by their representative. He noted that Rep. Kolleh has not lived up to the campaign promises he made during the 2023 presidential and legislative elections.
According to him, the representative has rarely visited the district since taking office, a situation he described as troubling for citizens who entrusted him with a second term.
“We, the citizens of District #2, are disappointed in Rep. James Kolleh for failing us since we elected him for a second term,” Gbenequelleh lamented. “He has yet to undertake any tangible development in the district. A man we trusted with our highest district seat has turned his back on us. We don’t know what is unfolding—our lawmaker no longer visits, and he has not initiated any projects in this area.”
Another resident, Moses Yarkpawolo of Gbenequelleh Town, also phoned in during the radio program to express his dissatisfaction with the lawmaker. Yarkpawolo alleged that during the 2023 elections, Rep. Kolleh was highly visible in the district, but since his re-election, he has allegedly failed to maintain regular engagement with constituents.
He called on the representative to return to the district and begin meaningful development initiatives that would improve living conditions for citizens.
Both Gbenequelleh and Yarkpawolo further alleged that funds intended for development in District #2 have not been utilized, and they urged the lawmaker to prioritize the needs of his people.
All efforts to contact the lawmaker’s office for a response proved unsuccessful.
