Who Wants To Kill Dillon?

By Joseph Tumbey

In the midst  of mysterious death and assassination attacks against  prominent  citizens in Liberia,   the Montserrado Senator,  Abraham  Darius Dillon, alarms threats against  his life, notified the Justice  Ministry, the  Liberian Senate as well as the diplomatic missions accredited near Monrovia just in case.

On Sunday  March  12, Senator Dillon  took on his Facebook Social  media  stating that  an individual  only identified as,  Otis Simeon Gorgor has accused  him with other opposition  Lawmakers  for financial supporting  the University of  Liberia  students  to act  violently  against  the ruling Coalition for  Democratic Change  government officials  at their campuses  and planning to attack  his home,  the home of  Grand Bassa Sen. Nyomblee Karnga Lawrence  and Montserrado  district #10 Lawmaker  Yekeh  Kolubah  on Tuesday  March  14 this year.

“Someone sent me a screenshot of one “Otis Simeon Gorgor” alleging that I, along with Sen. Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence and Rep. Yekeh Kolubah met with members of the Student Unification Party (SUP) and “paid” them to instigate violence on the main campuses of the University of Liberia.

At first, I laughed it off because it is not true and saw it funny as even the very SUP declared the UL Campuses a “No-Go Zone” for me nearly two years now for a view I expressed against the “Progressives” regarding the infamous 1979 “Rice Riot”. So, how it is being alleged that we met and sat with SUP functionaries to “plan violence” is very laughable tho”! Sen. Dillon  explains  on his Facebook account.

According to him, friends, supporters and family members, home and abroad have   forwarded  several   of the screenshots from  different Posters conveying the same messages and expressing concerns and fears about his  safety and well-being. “We are convinced that this is being well-coordinated, engineered and spread around by the very folks behind this concoction and devilish act”.

The Montserrado Senator   however  maintained  that  it’s not surprising that  the Liberia National Police under Patrick Sudue watch will simply play a “blind eye” to these public threats being posted against them even though it’s  the Police responsibility to protect  every life and property  within  the territory boundary   of the Country.
