Green Revolution Applauds Assets Recovery Team

The Green Revolution movement of Liberia, led by Mr. Varney Gbessay Kromah, has commended the newly established assets recovery team, headed by Cllr. Edwin Klah Martin, CIC Emmanuel Gonglo, Martin K.N. Kollie, and others, for their dedication and enthusiasm in the process.

In a statement to journalists earlier this week in Monrovia, the group emphasized the significance of asset recovery in reclaiming billions of dollars stolen by corrupt individuals in the nation.

However, the group also stressed the importance of ensuring due process in the proceedings to prevent the unjust persecution of innocent individuals. They cautioned that failure to implement a fair strategy could result in overlooking crucial aspects of the larger objective.

The Green Revolution’s statement highlighted the necessity of targeting individuals suspected of amassing vast wealth within a short span, particularly political figures and high-ranking officials.

To effectively pursue this strategy, the group proposed conducting lifestyle audits, scrutinizing call logs, travel history, financial transactions, property ownership, tax records, and business associations of the identified persons of interest.

Furthermore, the Green Revolution emphasized the importance of recruiting skilled professionals and providing them with the necessary resources to apprehend and prosecute these offenders.

Bellow is a full statement made by Green Revolution:

It’s true that we all have the ego to get these arrogant and disrespectful criminals who at the time of their crimes show no remorse or fear from us  they were busy stealing from. I will broadly agree and support that some of these crooks should be rounded up and thrown behind bars but mine you, the law is the law and they recognize the right of even those we perceive to be the guilty ones. ( Due process of the law).

To be frank comrade, you all will agree with me that government vehicles are not the assets that will bring back our billions in the hands of these economic criminals  but rather the condominiums of structures  all over the place. We need to put our feet down in ensuring that this perpetual impunity within our society is eradicated.

We first of all need to zero on persons of interest who might think or have gathered information of the acquired unquestionable wealth  within a short period of time:.

For us to make tremendous efforts in this strategy,  these people of interest now  need to be spread as per team and those teams are to conduct lifestyle audit on then and their associates, call logs for the past three years, frequent country visited, along with their close associates, bank accounts and transfer made over the past three years, structural properties own on the ground through shorting of documents from archive, real estate tax payment for the past three years, land pouches deaths from LLA andcthr probate court, record of business registration for associates of those persons of interest and other

We need to recruit professionals on the team and provide then with the requisite support in tracking down these crooks and bring then to Justice.

In conclusion, the Green Revolution reaffirmed its commitment to supporting efforts aimed at combating corruption and ensuring accountability within Liberian society.
