“I Refused US$150k Offer to Support Weah’s Re-election Bid”

Prophet Key

Controversial social media talk show host and self-proclaimed prophet, Nayabouqua Oldpa Yeazeahn, widely known as Prophet Key, has revealed that he turned down a $150,000 offer from the administration of former President George Weah to support his re-election campaign.

Speaking during his first radio interview at Prime 105.5 FM in Monrovia upon returning from years of exile in Morocco, Key explained his decision.

According to him, despite initial predictions of Weah’s victory in the 2017 presidential race, he became  disenchanted with the administration’s failure to fulfill promises to improve Liberia. He cited issues such as mysterious deaths and corruption as reasons for his opposition to Weah.

Key remained tight-lipped about the identity of the person who approached him with the offer, emphasizing his commitment to not support Weah’s second term presidency. “I prophesied Weah’s victory in 2017, but his failure to deliver on his promises compelled me to oppose him and advocate for President Joseph Nyumah Boakai,” he stated.

Presenting himself as a critical and controversial voice in Liberia, Key’s return signifies, according to him, the country’s safety in terms of rule, law and security  . He views his stance as a beacon of resistance against political corruption and a call for accountability.

Key’s alleged refusal to accept the offer highlights the complexities of Liberian politics and the diversity of opinions within the country. As he continues to assert his dissenting voice, his actions serve as a reminder of the challenges faced in the pursuit of political change and accountability.

His stance underscores the complexities of political dynamics in Liberia and sheds light on the influence of individuals like him in shaping the country’s future.
