All Set For Boakai’s SONA

The National  Legislature  has announced  100% readiness to host President  Joseph Nyuma Boakai  at the Joint Legislative  Chamber to address the Nation for  the first  time as President.

Speaking  with journalists in an emergency  press conference  held at the Ministry of Information  Culture Affairs and Tourism (MITCA) on Sunday January 28, 2024.   The Executive Committee head at the House of Representative, Representative Emmanuel  Dahn  disclosed  that both Houses are set and  in high gear to receive Boakai to discharge his constitutional mandate. 

According  to him,  the  Capitol will host a limited numbers, not more than 400 people  to avoid re- occurance  of heat exhaustion and security  risks. 

“Tomorrow we are going to have a successful  ceremony for president Boakai  during his first  national  address,” Representative Dahn stated. 

However,  Representative Dahn warned  those who want to access the facility  but have no pass to avoid embarrassment and keep far from the Capitol. 

“You can sit at your  homes or video club to watch the ceremony. It   will be live on satcom and LNTV,” he emphasized. 

Announcing  the Joint Security Protocols plan for the ceremony,  the Protocols dictate that  all Operators of vehicles, motorbikes, and Kehkehs are urged to adhere to these measures:

1. That regular traffic will be allowed to flow up until 3:00 P.M. on Monday, January 29, when vehicles plying from ELWA junction through Tubman Boulevard towards Central Monrovia will be diverted from Vamoma Junction through Sinkor by assigned officers;

2. That on Monday, January 29, 2024, vehicles plying from Central Monrovia through Sinkor will be diverted through Jallah  Town;

All are asked to stay clear of the Capitol Building if they do not have any role to play with the State of Nation Address.

Regular traffic through Capitol Hill is expected to resume immediately after the President’s convoy shall have left the Capitol Building 

However,  the  Joint Security apologizes for any inconveniences these protocols may cause you.

The media conference concluded with a tour  at the Joint Legislative Chamber  headed by Representative Dahn and displayed to the  media how set and ready they are to host the President.
