Green Revolution Calls for Modad Dismissal

The political pressure group, the  Green Revolution of Liberia calls on President Joseph N.  Boakai to dismiss Minister of Commerce & Industry, Amin Modad for massive corruption allegations against him in less than seven months in Boakai’s six years of administration.

Addressing the media over the weekend in Monrovia, the group’s head, Mr. Manja Varney Gbassey Kromah   challenged President Boakai to dismiss Modad immediately to demonstrate his intention to transforming the country from a culture of impunity and business as usual.

“It has been almost two months now since our stable food (rice) price was wickedly increased by Mr. Modad but met   President Boakai’s resistance. However, no actions have been taken against him by the president. Was Mr. Boakai not around when the Tolbert’s regime naively and unconsciously decided to increase the price of our stable food rice without regard to our economic changes as people?”  the group stressed.

Green Revolution characterized the Commerce Minister as a “Corrupt King-Kong” who is doing everything to achieve his self-aggrandizement, pushing the country into dark days by risking massive protests against Boakai’s regime that will undermine the fragile peace the country is experiencing

Manja  Kromah, the head  of the group confirmed that his Green Revolution is currently in consultation with other revolutionary groups including the   Citizens Committee for Good Governance, Conscious Capemounteniers Against Exploitation, and Bad Governance among others  to hold Boakai’s government feet to fire in making sure the right things are done in the interest of the common people who risked their lives, stood in the sun and rain to  vote for him  with the aim and dream to  see a flourishing and responsible government

“In 1979, conscious revolutionaries under the banner Progressive Alliance of Liberia (PAL) mounted the courage as they resisted that draconian strategy that eventually led to the forceful removal of that tyrannical government.

”Starting today, foot soldiers are under a revolutionary mandate for a door-to-door campaign, and organizing meetings in their various locals voluntarily, for a political awareness programs in other boroughs including, New Kru Towns, Buzy’s Quarter, Slipway, Westpoint, Airfield, Lakpahsu Sinkor among others,” the group head, Kromah  concluded.
