Weah- “Oppositions Repress My Progress”

President George Weah reports  opposition  depressing  the achievement of his administration  at his final first  term State of Nation’s Address SONA to the National  Legislature at the Capitol Hill in Monrovia. 

Giving his Annual report  to the National Legislature  on Monday  January  30, this year. The Liberian President  said that significant  efforts have been made   to boost the economy, education , health  and road among  others, while  his opposition play blind eyes to his success and continue to depress  his efforts. 

According to him, records  have shown that they have achieved an undeniable  mandate by passing  into the law, land write and local government acts,  the Kamara Abdullah Kamara  act of press freedom, power theft, Domestic violence act with dual Citizens   among many others.

President  emphasized  that, the dual Citizens bill is one of their significant achievement  to making  sure that  Liberians remain Liberians  

and their brothers and sisters in the diaspora can not be  discriminated against. 

He however stated the  year 2022 was the  highest level of revenue collected since the end of the Civil  war and urged  all Business people to pay their taxes  on time according to the law.

“Revenue  collected in the  year 2022 is US$740M, while US$ 625M came from  domestic  taxes.

“Our Microeconomic  foundation remains  stable while  our  neighboring States  are facing serious difficulties. 

“I Perform Well our  Country perform  and  our International  Partners give  us dash”, President Weah stated at the SONA.

According to him,  the debt sustainability analyst by the International Monetary Fund IMF has rated Liberia  from high rate debt defect to moderate rate debt defect.

However,  he calls on his government officials  to  recharge their energy and redouble their efforts to realize their goals and objectives of their pro- poor  agendas. 

“Although we worked hard,  there is  still a lot more to do together”, the President of Liberia  stated  at his final  first term  State of Nation’s Address.
