Afric Daily Newspaper-Monrovia: Lack of Town Hall in Virgina Township contnues to post several challenges over three decades as their Authority with inhabitants struggle to using their neighboring TownHall for public and private activities respectively
Accordingly, their major Town Hall has being under reconstruction after the brutal civil war that lasted over ten years has been abandoned due to lack of budgetary support.
Speaking with the Township Commissioner, Mr. Tye S. Weah Jr. he said since the Hall got destroyed during the civil war Virgina is lacking TownHall to carryout their activities.
According to him, their 3000 seated Hall require UD$200,000 for reconstruction to rescue their Citizens from their TownHall challenges .
He however called on the Government, especially the head of the State, President George Manneh Weah with other International partners to intervene and have their 3000 capacity Hall completed.
“The TownHall was broken and looted during the Civil war ,the two companies that were helping to build it left.
It’s yet to be completed due to lack of funding and now the Citizens of Virginia rent Tweh Farm TownHall to carry out their activities”, Commissioner Weah explained.
