The US States Department  through  their Embassy near  Monrovia  have condemned  the  Monday March 13 violence at University of Liberia Campus  and urged the citizens to learn  solving their   Disagreements and competing visions  through peaceful debate and at the ballot box, instead  of on the street.

Welcoming two of their most  senior  anti- corruption agents:  State Department’s Global Anti-Corruption Coordinator, Richard Nephew and USAID’s Anti-Corruption Task Force Executive Director, Shannon Green. Amb.Michael A. McCarthy condemned the violence that occurred at the University of Libena Capitol Hill campus.

“I say that violence of any kind has no place in a democratic society, Violence does nothing but undercut your own credibility and will only take this country backwards” US Ambassador to Liberia,Michael A. McCarthy asserted.

Early Monday afternoon March 13,  Gray led several of his supporters including a disadvantaged youths group ( Zogos) in what he characterized as having lunch  with the University  students  partisans, ” the Students Unification Party SUP” after  several public officials have reported being harassed by members of SUP.

While members of the Students  Unification Party  stood up in defiance of Gray present at their  Campuses, Hon. Gray intruded  the campus  with  several  disadvantaged youths  carrying  deadly  weapons  such as: iron, knives, batons, plants,  stones  among others.

Approaching  the position  of SUP, serious rock  battles began as  many  sustained  injuries, while Rep.  Gray supporters  succeeded in overcoming   SUP at their  campus.

Upon  the arrival of the controversial Montserrado district #10 Lawmaker , Yekeh  Kolubah,  Gray escaped the University of Liberia  Campuses  as a Man believed  to be Gray supporter  only identified as Ansu Sirleaf was manhandled.

According to Yekeh,  he was there to protect the Students on their campus  from political  power that was exercised  by Rep. Gray.

However, the Authority of the University of Liberia  has temporarily suspended  classes  for indefinite time  due to the riot at the University  on Monday March 13 afternoon.
