Gbarnga, Bong County-The newly appointed Superintendent of Bong County, Madam Hawa Norris, has unveiled her 100-day development agenda to the County Council, signaling a swift start to her administration’s efforts to uplift the region.
Superintendent Norris, who assumed office on May 14, 2024, has quickly set her sights on enhancing the living conditions of Bong County residents through a comprehensive development strategy.
The detailed 100-day plan was presented by her County Finance Officer, Silas Tokpah during a joint meeting with the County Council on July 1, 2024, held at the Gbarnga Administrative Building.
Mr. Tokpah outlined the administration’s focus on key areas such as education, health, agriculture, and infrastructure. He emphasized that these initiatives aim to bring substantial improvements to the county and its inhabitants within the first 100 days.
Education
The administration plans to collaborate closely with the education sector to elevate the quality of schooling. This will involve renovating and equipping schools, as well as providing training and capacity-building opportunities for teachers.
Health
Efforts will be made to enhance healthcare delivery by supplying essential medical resources and renovating health facilities across the county. This initiative aims to ensure better healthcare access for all residents.
Agriculture
In the agricultural domain, the administration intends to establish its own farm, focusing initially on bean cultivation. There are also plans to support smallholder farmers by providing them with training and necessary agricultural inputs, thereby boosting productivity and combating food insecurity.
Infrastructure and Governance
Mr. Tokpah emphasized the administration’s commitment to improving transparency and accountability in managing county resources. Promoting good governance through community engagement and participation will be a priority.
Mr. Tokpah expressed confidence in the 100-day plan, stating, “We have consulted with various stakeholders and identified the most pressing needs of our people. We believe that with the implementation of these plans, we can make significant progress in the next 100 days and beyond.”
During a joint meeting, the County Council Chairman Mr. Aaron Sackie Fenlah commended the administration’s forward-thinking plans and called on the people of Bong County to support these initiatives and hold the administration accountable. He urged unity and cooperation among citizens to achieve the outlined development goals.
The 100-day operational deliverables plan represents a firm commitment by the Bong County administration and the County Council to prioritize the needs of the people and work towards a brighter future for all.
