The Media Stakeholders call on the security sectors to create a mutual relationship with media Practitioners as their roles are very vital in developing a Democractic society.
Over the weekend, The press Union of Liberia PUL in partnership with Volunteers for Sustainable Development in Africa VOSIEDA and the Department of Communication and Media Studies of the University of Liberia held one day Media Security Analysis Dialogue in Monrovia aiming at mitigating violence against Journalists now, during and after the most trending Nation’s elections in October this year.
Speaking at the program, the Chief Executive Officer of Center for Media Studies and Peace Building CEMESP, Mr. Malcolm Joseph called for the steps up in media security relationship for sustainable development of the society.
Malcolm said, Media Safety and free press are cardinal to democracy as Journalists have the full responsibilities to inform the public on the plans and actions of the Newsmakers.
Meanwhile , the Publisher of the New Republic Newspaper, Mr. Alfonso Towel encouraged Journalists and Security practitioners to wisely use their gadgets and weapons respectively to avoid confrontation, but work towards promoting peace, transparency and accountability in the society.
Mr. Towel also called on Journalist of all kind to avoid argument but be law abiding in caring out their professional duties at all times.

No story worth dying for, during protest, wear something like a jacket that will identify you, always be by the side of security to avoid being cut off during the protest coverage.
On his part, the Liberia National Police LNP Spokesperson, Mr. Moses Carter who spoke on behalf of the National security assured Media Stakeholders in providing needful care for Journalists while performing their duty.
He acknowledged that the protection of Journalists is their paramount duty but however encouraged them to follow security instructions in order to avoid confrontation while carrying out their reportorial duties.
