The Authority of the Budy Security Guard  Service is calling  on the Government of Liberia  to ensure  Justice  in the case involving  one of their  security Guards   beaten  by the  Lebanese Man who is a warehouse Manager at the  Best  Choice super market in Congo Town,  few days ago.

According  to the    General inspector of the Budy Security Guard  Service , Mr. Ralph Senwah, one of their  Guard  Mr. William Socree was beaten  by a Lebanese  Man only identified as Raed EL Khoury  for mistakenly  stepping in the mixed  concrete while they were carrying some construction services  at  the facility.

Inspector  Senwah said the incident  was reported to the police later  followed  by the Ministry of Labor  intervention   and the Ministry ordered the suspension of Raed EL Khoury  work  permit , turned him over to the Police to be charged and sent to Court  for prosecution.

He said,  whilst they secure contracts for their  entity , they will never encourage  any violence against  their  employees  no matter what.

“It’s  our responsibility to protect and  defense every employee according to the law, this is  why we are calling for justice  as no one is above the law”, Budy Security Guard  service  General Inspector  Mr. Ralph Senwah acknowledged.

Speaking  to the Communication  Director from the Labor  Ministry, Mr. Joseph  K. Nyandibo. he said the  Labor  Minister,  Charles  H. Gibson  has with immediate effect suspended the Work Permit of Mr. Raed EL Khoury and not allow  to be seen in any place of work until the  issue is resolved and the Ministry of Labour will make a final determination

“We have been receiving information from social media and other sources that an employee assigned with Right Choice Supermarket was physically assaulted on the job. We order an investigation and realize that the issue is bound to both criminal and Labor matters. We are not charged with the jurisdiction to get involved with the criminality aspect of it. What falls within our jurisdiction borders on the treatment of workers in the workplace”,  Labor Ministry Communication Director Mr. Joseph K. Nyandibo noted.

According to him, Minister  Gibson  characterized  the Complainant,

William Socree  as an indigent and vulnerable young man whose monthly salary is Ninety United States Dollars (US$90) far below the Minimum Wage of Liberia, “he complained of pain in the body, being molested, and physically assaulted”.

The Budy Security Guard Inspector however  confirmed  paying his Guards at least US$90  but said they are trying their best more than some government Agencies and private  companies  across the Country.

“Information Ministry  staffers recently  protested  for low pay. According to them, some of them are paid UD$35.

We are not focusing on pay but seeking Justice for our employee our Citizens  and our primary focus is to provide  jobs for our Citizens”,  Mr. Ralph Senwah stated.
