SANCTION AND SUSPENDED OFFICIALS  RESIGN

Afric  Daily Newspaper- Monrovia: The USA sanctioned  cabinet members of  President Weah government, Nathaniel  F.  McGill, Bill Twehway and Solicitor General Seyma Syrennius Cephus have turned in their  resignation   ahead of the investigation. 

President  Weah former  Minister of State  for Presidential Affairs Nathaniel  F. McGill , Bill  Twehway, the Director  of the National  Port Authority and Solicitor General Seyma Syrennius Cephus  turned in their  resignation  on Monday September  12, 2022  in Monrovia. 

The Sanction  Cabinet Members  who are  suffering from pressure  and political  wrangling  were immediately  suspended  by Weah after  the USA government  listed them on  sanction  for Corruptions  and misuse of power on August  15 this year. 

President George Manneh Weah, on Tuesday, August 16, suspended Minister of State Nathaniel McGill, the Managing Director of the National Port Authority Bill Twehway, and Solicitor General Seyma Syrennius Cephus with immediate effect to enable them to face investigation.

According to a release from the Executive Mansion by then,  President George Weah received with serious concern, the United States Treasury Department report which designated three of his officials for specialized sanctions under the Global Magnitsky Act.

In the  Executive Mansion statement,   Weah viewed the allegations against the officials contained in the report as grave.

The release  added that President Weah subsequently designated their principal deputies of the suspended officials to act in their stead.

Meanwhile  the Executive  Mansion   has officially confirmed the resignation of two of the suspended and U.S. sanction designees Nathaniel F. McGill, and Bill Twehway,.

According  to the Executive Mansion release  right  after their resignation,  President Weah has  accepted the resignations of both suspended Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Mr. Nathaniel F. McGill, and the National Port Authority (NPA) Managing Director, Mr. Bill Twehway.
