The battle between senior members of the opposition People Liberation Party PLP intensifies as the group who declared support to president Weah second bid under the party leadership suspend several others who fail to embrace their decision.
Over the weekend, the party Chairman,Mr. Bernard Benson, Jr. Suspended Counties Chairs including: Bong County Chairman, Mr. Jerry K. Kollie, Mohammed A. Bility Margibi, J. Emmanuel Greene Grand Cape Mount, Oscar Holmes Former Bomi County, Mrs. Evelyn Yarkollie-Morris Nimba and Abraham Sirleaf Montserrado County on the grand that their advocacies in the public about the party decision to join the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change is not in the known of the entire party Executive and has brought their party to public disrepute.
“The People’s Liberation Party (PLP) is disturbed by recent radio statements made Mr. Jerry K. Kollie, former Chairman of the PLP Bong County Chapter that Chairpersons of counties were not in the know for the party’s decision to join the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) and for the declaration of support for President George M. Weah re-election bid.
It is also sad to note that Mr. Kollie and others will choose to use the airwave without first exhausting all of the options available to him and others before his mass publication that has put the party into public disrepute”, PLP Chairman told reporters at their Congo Town headquarters over the weekend.
Meanwhile, PLP National Chairman noted that their decision to join the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change is in keeping the legacy of the late vision bearer Dr. Daniel E. Cassell alive and making his dream a reality in view of the plan he had.
According to him, prior to declaring their support to CDC, their late Standard Bearer, Dr. Daniel E. Cassell was the first to endorse the CDC in Lofa County during the recent Special Election.
