UP wants him out
The opposition Unity Party (UP) authority has characterized the National Election Commission (NEC) Magistrate for Lower Lofa County, Robert N. Sele as a mischievous Magistrate who has compromised, with zero credibility to preside over the runoff election and calls for his immediate removal.
UP Campaign Spokesperson, Robert Mocio Kpadeh says, they are reliably informed by credible sources within NEC that he viciously instructed Presiding Officers (POs) to stuff ballots and alter numbers against Joseph Nyuma Boakai in the just-ended October 10th polls.
Kpadeh accused the Lower Lofa NEC head of being chronically corrupt, unprofessional, reckless, unpatriotic and has publicly expressed multiple times his fierce opposition to the presidential bid of the Unity Party Alliance Standard Bearer Joseph Nyuma Boakai.
“The Unity Party has officially written NEC requesting that Robert Sele be made to recuse himself or be removed from the position ahead of the crucial November 14th runoff election in Lofa on grounds that he is egregiously compromised. Our NEC sources have also informed us that Robert Sele recently met top Executives of the CDC Campaign here in Monrovia and was promised to be promoted to the rank of Commissioner at NEC if he substantially decreases Boakai’s votes and increases George Weah’s votes in the impending runoff election in Lofa. He has wholeheartedly agreed in principle and is ready to execute this wicked and stupid plot if he is allowed to preside over the runoff. Such criminal and nefarious tendency, to cheat a candidate in the electoral process, doesn’t only potentially threaten the peace, but it runs contrary to the principle of transparency, fairness, and credibility on which the NEC must conduct all elections,” kpadeh narrated.
They are urging NEC to expeditiously act on the request of the Unity Party to have Magistrate Robert Sele recuse or be removed immediately.
“We have material evidence in our possession to prove that this roguish man is notoriously dangerous and is hellbent on defrauding the Unity Party in Lofa for a huge reward. We do not want Sele presiding over the run-off election in Lofa, do as to avoid problems that could potentially jeopardize the peace of Lofa. He has expressed hate for Joseph Boakai and is bent on actualizing such hatred in this electoral process. He must be purged out!” UP Campaign Spokesperson Robert Kpadeh emphasized.
