The Liberia-China Friendship Organization (LICFO) had an acquaintance meeting with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China accredited near Monrovia, H.E. Yin Chengwu.
During the meeting with the Ambassador Yin, exchange views on people-to-people relations between Liberia and China. The Chinese Diplomat expressed his appreciation for the manner which LICFO is promoting China and Liberia people-to-people friendship and expressed his willingness to support exchanges and cooperation with LICFO and Liberian Civil Society to support friendly relations between the two countries.
Also speaking during the meeting was the President of LICFO, Mr. Siafa G. Sheriff, who thanked Ambassador Yin for the acquaintance meeting and pledged the lifting of Liberia-China Relations to a noble height.
In a related development, LICFO is commending the President of the Republic of Liberia, Ambassador Joseph Boakai for reaffirming the Government of Liberia’s commitment to the “One China Policy” and expressed confidence in China’s Belt and Road Initiative as a platform for development and assistance to African countries in general and Liberia in particular.
The friendship existing between Liberia and China is a win-win endeavor that benefits the two countries. The friendship built the confidence of the Government of the People’s Republic of China to develop the infrastructures of Liberia including the construction of the University of Liberia Fendell Campus, the construction and renovations of the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex, the construction of Monrovia Vocation Training Center (MVTC), the Construction of the Ministerial Complex and the Ministry of Health, the construction of the Jackson F. Doe Hospital in Tappita, Nimba County, among many other infrastructure developments.
The friendship also provided opportunities for Liberian students to study in the People’s Republic of China in various disciplines.
On the other hand, existing friendship also provided means for the Chinese businesses and companies to operate in Liberia.
